The Ministry of Economy and Trade also pointed out that the development of the Syrian textile industry should be supported in two aspects. First, the government should provide support and assistance to the textile industry through the Export Promotion and Development Bureau, especially the high-level skills training for textile workers in order to raise the industry's production level; Textile manufacturers should keep abreast of the latest developments in the international textile market, improve the quality of their textiles, follow international standards, strengthen design innovation, and build internationally-renowned brands.
Syria Increases Textile Export Subsidies
The Syrian Ministry of Economic Affairs recently released news that it will increase the export of fabrics, garments and accessories in the 2010 Metax Autumn Fair. It hopes to strengthen the support for the textile industry by promoting exports and solve various difficulties faced by textile manufacturers. The Export Promotion and Development Bureau will allocate special funds for textile export subsidies and promote the development of the textile industry through other forms.
