China’s trade frictions continue to increase on the 10th anniversary of WTO accession

[China Glass Network] 2011 marks the 10th anniversary of China's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). At the first commemorative meeting on April 1, Hua Jianmin, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, delivered a keynote speech, saying that China in 2010 Overseas investment has reached nearly 60 billion US dollars, but the trade frictions encountered by China in the past 10 years have also rapidly increased, and China has become the main target country of trade protectionism.
The commemorative meeting on the theme of "persisting on opening up and opening up a new world economic and trade order" attracted nearly 300 people from Chinese and foreign business circles. At the meeting, Hua Jianmin said that with the sustained and rapid economic development, exchanges and cooperation between China and the rest of the world have been intensified, and the degree of integration into the international community has deepened, and its role in global governance and international affairs has increased.
However, he pointed out that the international trade frictions that China has experienced in the past 10 years have shown rapid growth. Especially since the outbreak of the international financial crisis, the economic recovery process of various countries has further divided. The macroeconomic policies of some major economies have been strengthened, and trade protectionism has been heating up. China has become the main target country of trade protectionism.
Hua Jianmin said that China's exports accounted for 9.6% of the world's exports in 2009, but the anti-dumping cases accounted for 40% of the world's total, anti-subsidy cases accounted for 75% of the world, and the number of trade investigations encountered accounted for 43% of the total number of global cases in the same period. .
Hua Jianmin said that despite the severe external economic environment, China's determination to expand its opening up will not be shaken, and opening up to the outside world will remain China's long-term theme in the future, and will be more distinct.
He pointed out that China will attach great importance to the irreplaceable role of the WTO in opposing trade protectionism and promoting economic recovery. In today's efforts to reshape the international economic order, the outcome of the Doha Round negotiations will play a more powerful role in regulating international trade for quite some time to come. As a promoter of the Doha Round negotiations, China will work with other countries to promote the success of the Doha Round negotiations.
