In addition to being easily damaged by the decay of insects, human damage is also one of the main reasons: the destruction of fires, wars, etc., has caused many precious ancient books, ancient calligraphy and paintings, and ancient documents to be lost.

In general, the protection of paper relics is very difficult and improper collection can damage the appearance of the collection. The ancient collection books use letter sets, and the calligraphy and painting use refined paintings. The materials used to make the paintings must be carefully selected to prevent the oily materials in the wood from contaminating the paper. The ancient wooden paintings were not only exquisite in their choice of materials (usually used for coffins), but also multi-layered materials, the outer layers were coffins, and the middle was coffins. The upper layer is made of fine silk and the painting is wrapped in a cloth.
