In the coming decade, the development trend for women's clothing in Shenzhen will be driven by group strategies, international collaborations, industry alliances, and market partnerships. The garment industry in Shenzhen is set to enter a new phase of growth, with many large enterprises over the past decade having grown stronger and more established. For instance, companies that have already developed successful business models are now preparing for their initial public offerings (IPOs). Combined with the completion of new industrial parks and improved capital operations, these enterprises are well-positioned to expand further. The past ten years can be considered a golden era for Shenzhen’s garment industry. Ten years ago, there were very few recognizable brands in the region. Brand building has taken time—over a decade of collaborative effort from both industries and enterprises has helped establish Shenzhen as a brand hub. Many exporters have transitioned into recognized brands, and most have made significant progress since that shift. Looking ahead, top Shenzhen garment companies are expected to gradually enter the capital market through listings, restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions. I believe the future will see a surge in brand groups emerging from Shenzhen. Many large enterprises have already expanded beyond a single brand, evolving from one to two, then three or even four, and potentially more. This multi-brand strategy allows companies to target different market segments—medium, high, and low—by leveraging successful models to incubate and replicate new brands. This approach is already being successfully implemented by some companies, such as the Shadow Group, which operates four distinct brands and has achieved great success. Once a brand establishes a strong channel, it paves the way for other brands to follow. The key lies in managing style and positioning effectively. Thus, the future of Shenzhen’s garment industry will be closely tied to brand development and group expansion. To support this vision, our association also plans to establish its own fashion institute, or collaborate with domestic and international fashion institutes, focusing on nurturing local design talent. Alternatively, we may partner with foreign design teams, utilizing external expertise to accelerate internationalization—a promising path for growth. Moreover, industry and brand alliances will become increasingly important. Small and medium-sized brands that fail to join such alliances risk shrinking opportunities. The future of the garment industry should revolve around international convergence and market alliances, not only within China but also globally. As an industry promoter, we will continue to serve as a bridge between the government and businesses, while placing greater emphasis on both domestic and international market development. Previously, our focus was mainly on domestic markets, such as strengthening relationships with department stores and improving distribution channels. However, moving forward, we won’t just talk about “aligning with the world”—we’ll act on it. Starting next year, setting up overseas offices could become a reality. Our goal is to play a more active role as a bridge, helping enterprises expand internationally and achieve global success.
