On December 3, 2016, the first Jinjiang International Half Marathon was kicked off at the Jinjiang Sports Center, attracting 10,000 players from more than 20 countries and regions around the world to participate in the competition. After fierce competition, Emanuel Giniki Gisamoda from Tanzania finally won the men's half-time championship, and Diana Chemtai LIPYOKEI from Kenya won the women's half-time championship.
